Whether you are looking for thrills and excitement, San Francisco history and exhibitions or animals and the more exotic, you will not have to look far in San Francisco, one of California's most important cities. Here are some of the top attractions in San Francisco.

Departing from Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco's Fire Engine Tours provide regular, detailed tours of the city in an old fire engine. Lovingly restored, riding in the 1955 Mack fire engine is an unusual way to see San Francisco, particular as you also get to dress up as a fireman.

San Francisco Tourist Attractions: Vesuvius Bar - North Beach, San Francisco, California, USA
More like a museum than an actual bar, Vesuvius in the North Beach area of San Francisco is crammed full of 1950s memorabilia. This famous bar is where all of the big-name poets of the 60s used to drink and afterwards, would walk to the Citylights Bookstore next door and read poetry to each other.
San Francisco Tourist Attractions: Lombard Street - San Francisco, California, USA
San Francisco's Lombard Street must be the most winding, bendy street in the whole world, zigzagging down a hillside in the city. With seven sharp corners in just 200 yards, there is a cable car stop close to the top of Lombard Street, which provides a convenient place to take a leisurely walk down this unusual street. Lombard Street was originally built with so many curves, as the hill was too steep for the city's horses.
